Kairos Prison Ministry International (KPMI)
Kairos is an International Christian Ministry. Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. is the parent organization of a body of ministries operating as Chapters that are located in many States and Countries addressing the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women and children, and to their families and to those who work in the prison environment. Kairos sprang from the Cursillo movement and is supported by Christian volunteers including those from Cursillo and those other movements that consider Cursillo as their root.
On any given Kairos program you may find our guests to be of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Atheist, Wiccan, non-specified or other beliefs. We welcome all.
At Lockhart our Kairos Inside program currently operates in both the women and men units.
It takes between 50-60 volunteers to run a Kairos weekend. That includes both inside and outside teams.
Inside team are the people that go into the prison.
Outside team work on the outside at the host church preparing meals, praying and lots more.
There is always plenty to do so volunteers are always welcome!
